Helmut NEUBAUER

 Generalmajor Helmut NEUBAUER was born in Trier in Germany on July 11, 1941 and joined the Bundeswehr in 1961.
From 1961 to 1963 he was trained as a mountain troops officer. From 1964 to 1973 he occupied different positions such as platoon leader, S3 officer, instructor at the infantry school and company commander.
From 1973 to 1976 he completed the general staff officer training at the German Armed Forces Command and General Staff College, Hamburg and then at the French Command and General Staff College, Paris.
From 1976 to 1981 he was first assigned as G3 Plans officer at the CENTAG HQ, Mannheim, then as German liaison officer to the French Command and General Staff College in Paris.
In 1981 he assumed command of Mountain Battalion 221(later renamed 233), Mittenwald.
From 1983 to 1985, he was assigned as G1 branch head at the 10th Armoured Division HQ and then as aide-de-camp of the Defense Minister in Bonn until 1988.
In 1988 he assumed command of the 23rd Mountain Brigade in Bad Reichenhall.
From 1991 to 1993 he was the commander of the french/german Brigade, first in Böblingen, then in Müllheim. After this tour he moved to the Army chief of staff office where he was in charge of specific tasks .
He was then assigned as deputy commander of the 10th Armoured Division and commander of the Division troops from 1994 to 1998.
From December 1996 to September 1997 he deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina as chief of staff of Multi-National Division South-East in Mostar.
Since October 1, 1998 he is the German Deputy Commander and Senior German General Officer at the EUROCORPS in Strasbourg.
Generalmajor Neubauer is married and has three children.
