Eurocorps hoists the European flag

Strasbourg (France), 9th May 2008.

Today was the Day of Europe. It was celebrated during a ceremony that took place at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Mrs Catherine TRAUTMANN, elected member of the European Parliament representing the President of the Parliament, Mr Rainer WIELAND, elected member of the European Parliament and Mr Roland RIES, mayor of Strasbourg, held speeches for the 700 French and German students invited at this activity in the European capital. A multinational Eurocorps detachment were the actors of the flag hoisting while a military band of the French Artillery Regiment 12 from Haguenau played the European anthem.
