During the annual meeting of the Common Committee, the Belgian Lieutenant General Charles-Henri Delcour, Commanding General of the Eurocorps, accounted for the activities of the year 2005 and in particular the lessons learned after 6 months in Afghanistan.
Acting within the framework of the International Security Assistance Force, the Eurocorps provided the Commander of this force as well as a substantial part of the personnel of the staff and the troops. The discussions of the Committee also related to the relations between the Eurocorps and the NATO on the one hand and with the European Union of other part. The main subject was the NATO Response Force (NRF) for which the Headquarters prepares in 2006. It will ensure the Command of the Land Component whereas the Franco-German brigade, which is subordinated to him, constitutes the core of it.
