Rush hour on training platform

Strasbourg (France), 14 June 2007

Another busy day at the training platform of HQ EUROCORPS. The Multinational Command Support Brigade continues to prepare the facility for the start of operation NEMEA. The last shelters have been transported to their destination. Heavy lorries have to lift these big sized containers.

As a command post is essentially a communication network, connected to its units and higher command by computers and satellites, antennas of all sizes are still growing on some of these containers and in the vicinity of the compound.

Specialist communication personnel then orientate these disks in the direction of the satellites linking the world of the military operation as a village.

The interior of the shelters and tents are well-equipped. Next to the necessary furniture, interior lighting, arrowing & signalling, there is even air-conditioning and of course fire extinguishers and waste bins. No smoking is allowed in these shelters.

In order to keep the command post running some 1300 liters of fuel have to be delivered daily. This is the task of a tank truck from the support company of the Headquarter Support Battalion (HQSB).

Today all the staff personnel will be finalizing the organization of their functional areas and start a warm-up training on that level.
