Brigadier General André BAUDOIN, engineer, was born in Beauraing on 21st May 1952.

After graduating from the high school of Beauraing in the section Latin-mathematics, he joins the Royal Military Academy in 1970 with the 125th Polytechnic Promotion. At the end of 1975 he obtains the title of "Civil Engineer in Mechanics".

In 1976, after a six month specialization course in Logistics, he joins the 201st "Compagnie du Matériel" in Dellbruck (Germany) where he will be in charge of the supply platoon.

Mid-1978, Lieutenant Baudoin is recalled for a period of four years to the Royal Military Academy as a teacher in Mechanics.

In September 1982, Captain Baudoin is again recalled for duty with the Belgian Forces in Germany in Propsteierwald (Aachen) as commander of the 230th Maintenance Company of the 29th Logistics Battalion.

In 1984 he becomes Technical Officer of the 29th Logistic Battalion.

After his Senior Officers’ Course at the Royal Defence College (September 85 to June 86) he is assigned for three years to the Army Logistics Division in Tervuren (Brussels), where he is in charge of the automated management model of the Army chain of supply.

In the same period, Major Baudoin, takes a two-year long course at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve and graduates in 1988 as Engineer in Industrial Management.

In June 1989, he is the Belgian Officer selected to follow the US Army Command and General Staff Officers Course in Fort-Leavenworth (Kansas) where he graduates in June 1990.

He returns to Belgium in July 1990 and follows the Higher Staff Course at the Royal Defence College where he graduates as General Staff Officer in June 1991.

He stays at the Royal Defence College as teacher in the Department "Management and Leadership".

In July 1993, Lieutenant-Colonel BAUDOIN is assigned to the Section Equipment and Logistics of the Army Staff as Head of the Sub-section Operational Logistics, where he will be in charge of the continuity of the logistic support during the 1993 army review, as well as of the logistic support to the Belgian Forces engaged in PSO in Croatia, Somalia and Rwanda.

In February 1996 he becomes the Chief of the Sub-section "Plans at Midlong Term" of the Army Staff which is responsible for the planning (20 years) and the programming (5 years) of the Army’s Investments and Operating Costs.

He is promoted Colonel on the 26th of December 1997 and in June 1998 he takes over the Command of the Logistics Support Centre South and he becomes the Military Commander of the Province of Liège, as well.

At the end of 2001, he hands over his duty and on the 2nd of January 2002 he becomes the Chief of the Section Policies in the Division Synthesis of the Directorate General Material Resources (DGMR) of the Belgian Defence Staff.

From the 1st of January 2004 on, he is assigned as Belgian Defence Attaché to Hungary and is also accredited for Romania and Moldova.

On the 21st September 2005, he is commissioned as Brigadier-General as "Deputy Chief of Staff – Support" in the Staff of the Eurocorps in Strasbourg, France.

Brigadier-General BAUDOIN is married and has a daughter.
