Orzysz (Poland), 23rd April 2008
Today Lieutenant General Pedro Pitarch visited the 15th Polish Mechanized Brigade in Orzysz, in the North-East of Poland.
He was welcomed by Brigadier General Zbigniew SMOK, who presented his unit to the Eurocorps Commander.
Several dynamic demonstrations took place in the exercise area, including tank firings.
The Eurocorps was created in 1992 as the concrete implementation of a political will that has developed since the 1950's.
The Eurocorps comprises military contributions from its five framework nations: Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain. The Headquarters, in which soldiers from the member states and also from Austria, Greece, Poland and Turkey participate, is located in Strasbourg, France.
