President of the Republic of Cape Verde paid a visit to Eurocorps

On 27th May His Excellency Mr Pedro Corona Rodrigues Pires, President of the Republic of Cape Verde, paid a visit to the Eurocorps soldiers present on Sao Vicente Island. A first wave of 60 military arrived on 25th May as advanced party for the NRF-exercise Steadfast Jaguar and started immediately building up a camp.

Accompanied by his Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence, the President was impressed by the achievements of only two days of work and discussed with the soldiers occupied with graveling, setting up of tents and containers, storing supply…

A second wave of about 100 Eurocorps soldiers arrived on 29th May to unload communications and information systems and to install them in various networks. The main body of the Eurocorps Headquarters’ participants will deploy on June 9th.
