Flight of the Commanding General to European Endeavour

Strasbourg (France), 28th May 2008.

Spanish Lieutenant General Pedro Pitarch, Commanding General Eurocorps, went to the opening ceremony of the exercise European Endeavour in Stetten am Kalten Markt / Black Forrest in Germany.

A “Gazelle”, a French army helicopter, landed on the helicopter landing spot of the Aubert de Vincelles barracks, home base of Headquarters Eurocorps. After a security check and flight instructions for the passengers, the helicopter lifted of slowly and headed straight for its destination.

At the military garrison of Stetten am Kalten Markt Lieutenant General Pitarch participated at the opening ceremony of the major exercise European Endeavour 2008. He met with several other commanders of units involved in this exercise.

The 5th (Heavy) Company of Jägerbataillon 292 is temporarily stationed in the Stetten am kalten Markt garrison. This regiment is a German infantry unit of the French-German Brigade, who is under operational command of HQ Eurocorps.

Late in the afternoon the Commanding General Eurocorps returned to his home base with the helicopter.
