Also they serve as the core of a NATO Rapid Reaction Force within the framework of the NATO Response Force and a subordinate unit of Eurocorps as High Readiness Force Land Headquarters. They provide a contribution to a European rapid capability under the EU Battle Group concept. Further the French-German Brigade is embloyable in an operation led by national Headquarters and set a new standard in Europe as a network-capable major unit with a maximum of interoperability. In order to facilitate operations of the FGB in its entirety, both nations furthermore stress their intention of taking the Brigade out of their respective national plans, giving to operations on a bi-national basis and strengthening the Operational Command subordination under the Commander Eurocorps.
