Today Lieutenant General GARDNER, Deputy Commander of Allied Land Component Command of Heidelberg paid a visit to exercise Common Effort 08. After the welcome by Lieutenant General Pitarch, Commanding General Eurocorps, he assisted the JOC Update, the VTC of COM LCC/RSC/MSUs at Main CP and the ExDir Morning Update at DISTAFF.

Common Effort 08: Opening Ceremony of the exercise

In the afternoon the participants of exercise Common Effort 2008 gathered for the opening ceremony on the parade ground of Quartier Delestraint in Camp Mourmelon. Lieutenant General Pedro Pitarch, Commanding General of the Eurocorps, inspected the troops and made his opening remarks. This parade marked the beginning of the final part of the exercise , called: Command Post Exercise (CPX).
