In the context of an official visit to France, General Czeslaw Piatas, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Poland, paid a visit to Eurocorps headquarters today.
Poland has deployed personnel to Headquarters Eurocorps since January 2003. General Piatas received detailed information about Eurocorps’ experiences in the process of reforming into a High Readiness Forces Headquarters (HRF), and the NATO certification process, which Headquarters Eurocorps successfully has finalized last year.
The trinational Corps-Headquarters in Szczecin, Poland, manned by Poland, Germany and Denmark presently undergoes a comparable development to become a so-called “headquarters of lower readiness” (HLR) till the year 2005.
