Eurocorps Commander meets the 1st Belgian Medium Brigade

Leopoldsburg (Belgium) – 14 & 15 April 2008.

In the late afternoon of the 14th April, Lieutenant General Pedro Pitarch, Eurocorps Commander, arrived in the garrison of the 1st Belgian Medium Brigade, one of the earmarkable brigades of the Belgian troop contribution to HQ Eurocorps. He was welcomed by the Commander of the 1st Brigade and together they paid a visit to the mayor of Leopoldsburg, Erwin Van Pée.

On 15th April a honour guard of the 1st Medium Brigade welcomed the Eurocorps Commander at the Brigade Headquarters in Camp Beverlo. After briefings from LCC and 1st Medium Brigade he experienced the capabilities of this combat unit through a series of demonstrations at the firing range. He made a helicopter flight over the camp facilities and had the opportunity to have a unique view on the vast heath mould surrounding the military training area.
