Airlift to Sal Island (Cape Verde)

Sao Vicente (Cape Verde), 12th June 2006

In the early morning of June 10th the multinational main body of the Eurocorps personnel for NATO-exercise Steadfast Jaguar were flown from Maastricht, The Netherlands (see picture) to Sal Island in Cape Verde. After a rough overnight, a military Transal aircraft transported the military to the Sao Pedro airport on Sao Vicente island. From there they were taken by road to different locations. The official start of the NRF-exercise is on 15th June.
