Eurocorps hoists the European flag

Strasbourg (France), 9th May 2007.

Today was the Day of Europe. It was celebrated during a ceremony that took place at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Mrs Fabienne Keller, mayor of Strasbourg, and Mr P.Nikiforus Diamandouros, European Ombudsman, presided the ceremony hosted by Mr Jean-Jacques Fritz of the Parliament. A multinational Eurocorps detachment were the actors of the ceremony while a military band of the FR 12 Regiment d'Artillerie from Haguenau played the European anthem. Mrs Keller concluded her speech with an appreciated "Vive l'Eurocorps!".
